Dear Members, Dear Sympathizers, inhabitants of Planas del Rey,
Our association, which has struggled since 2009 to improve the situation in Planes del Rei, is an apolitical association. It’s written in our statutes.
However, this time we will have to decide, because what is happening now has nothing to do with politics.
This is a ACT OF FORCE
Pratdip’s “enemy brothers”, the PSC and PdeCAT, formed a coalition called “Junts per Pratdip”.
These people have always struggled so that the law does not apply to Planas: the outgoing Mayor, Mr. Joan Rovira Vernet but also his ally, Jose Jose Maria Rovira, first deputy of the former Mayor, Josep Montané.
In Pratdip, a lost territory of the Kingdom of Spain, a lost territory of the Catalonia Region, yet so quick to ignite for democracy, a handful of people are preparing an openly discriminatory municipal government.
They decided to formalize an “apartheid” between:
- “those from above” (Pratdip-center) populated by Catalans since the dawn of time
- and “those from below”, the Sorts, Santa-Marina, and Planas mostly populated by “people from elsewhere”, foreign Europeans: English, Belgian, French, German, Dutch, (but also Spanish and Catalans from elsewhere).
This “apartheid” that this handful of politicians wants to impose has powerful and harmful engines: xenophobia and racism.

To put this “new order” in place, they have a magic formula: “Planas is a private urbanization”, rehearsed for the past 40 years.
We now know that it is a fiction, a fable.
- No, the EUCC has never been a club of owners. The EUCC was established in 1987 by the Pratdip Municipal Council for a period of five years.
- And yes: in July 2016, the EUCC, this Administrative Entity created by the Pratdip Town Hall has been dissolved by the Judges of Barcelona.
- And what the judges of Barcelona say raises a huge question: since 1993, the public money represented by our property taxes (IBI) has been for 21 years diverted by these same politicians for their own interests. It will be necessary that this question is legally posed to them. Here in Spain, or in front of an international court … ..But asked!
Racist and xenophobic attitudes are opposed by the Generalitat, the Spanish Government, all European states, and the Brussels Commission.
They are contrary to our common values and to the European Charter which regulates the relations between the 500 million Europeans and which has been signed by Spain.
She says: Non-discrimination Article 22 of Title 3: “In the field of application of treaties and without prejudice to their special provisions, any discrimination on grounds of nationality is prohibited”
FORTUNATELY, ANOTHER WAY OF SEEING THINGS IS POSSIBLE:
Finding common interests of the people of Pratdip-center and the inhabitants of Urbanizations, imagine an ambitious common future in terms of quality of life and peace, it is possible.
But it’s a question of political will.
This political will, a list has made its program: it is “AVANÇA PRATDIP”.

AVANÇA PRATDIP is the choice of our association “because AVANÇA PRATDIP defends the values we have been defending for 10 years.
We must stop at Junts per Catalunia. It is not conceivable that an overtly discriminatory government could move to Pratdip.
It is possible if we, inhabitants of Planas vote for the list, the only one that represents our future: “AVANÇA PRATDIP”
